Netflix’s popular series Rana Naidu is back in action, with shooting for Season 2 officially underway. The streaming platform recently shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, showcasing lead actors Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh, along with a new addition to the cast, Arjun Rampal.
In the video, fans are treated to glimpses of intense action scenes, including Rana wielding a gun and Venkatesh maneuvering an ATV. Arjun Rampal is introduced in a dramatic shot, taking aim with a shotgun. Netflix’s official X (formerly Twitter) page announced, “Rana Naidu Season 2 is now filming #RanaNaiduOnNetflix.”
The announcement has sparked excitement among fans. One fan commented, “Arjun Rampal man now you’ll see the madness.” Another added, “Arjun Rampal as Rahul Sanghvi in Bhagavanth Kesri was outstanding. Can’t wait to see him in Rana Naidu Season 2.”
The anticipation for the new season is palpable. A fan shared, “Eagerly waiting for this season. Season 1 was just above average, but the star cast and their performances were outstanding.”
Season 1 of Rana Naidu surprised the Telugu audience, showcasing Venkatesh in a new light, moving away from his usual ‘family man’ image. Reflecting on the series at an event last year, Venkatesh said, “Naga Naidu is not a common man. We’ve received requests from all over the world for a sequel. While youngsters are eager for it, we want to ensure we maintain the series’ mischief without offending anyone. This time, it’ll be even better.”
The first season, released in 2023, was well-received. Directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma, and produced by Sunder Aaron under Locomotive Global Inc., the series is an official adaptation of the American crime drama Ray Donovan. The cast includes Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Ashish Vidyarthi.
Rana Naidu is a 10-episode series where Rana Daggubati plays the titular character, a ‘fixer of the stars,’ while Venkatesh portrays his father, Naga. The show explores the toxic and complex relationship between the two characters, alongside Rana’s efforts to rectify his clients’ mistakes. The storyline has been adapted to cater to Indian audiences, with the show available in multiple languages, including Telugu and Hindi.
With the addition of Arjun Rampal and the promise of more thrilling action and drama, Rana Naidu Season 2 is set to captivate audiences once again.
